Attach the two longer pieces of 2x4s themselves with the top edge of the 4 x 4 posts forming the cross member, using the layer bolts. Attach two end pieces (41 inches) with layer bolts. This will look like a box when done. Insert four of the 41-inch 2x4s in the center of the box section. This forms supports for plywood support of the mattress. Attaches the cross supports the plywood and the end supports the use of tire screws.
Repeat the same procedure to form the floor of teen loft bed. Do not jump this step, this gives bed strength and stability. Put a4x8 plates of plywood into the floor section. Cover the section floor with the carpet or finish with paint. Set the height of the railing to the upper part, depending on the ceiling height. Leave a minimum of 2 inches between the top of the railing and the ceiling. Decide where the ladder is to be placed and leave this space open. Build and fasten handrails all around the top of the loft. Build a sturdy ladder using 2 x 4 timbers. Use layer bolts to fix steps. Remember to adjust steps for teen shorter legs. Do not place steps too far apart. Secure the ladder to the bed you have chosen for that area. Sand, prime and paint the finished bed.
