DIY Ikea Full Size Loft Bed

Ikea full size loft bed – are often best built by themselves because there are very few commercially available ceilings, and most are built for double mattresses. Whether you want a bigger cot for your child or an adult sized cot for a vacation home, a full or double size cot is a project that can save you a lot of floor space in your room in exchange for cheap supplies and an afternoon labor. Set your frame at the end so that you can access both the plywood side and the beam side. Set a 6-inch with 6-inch insert in the corner, embedded in the angle formed by two beams. Screw it into place with three wooden screws along the diagonal of the square formed at the end of the post. Screw through the plywood and into the end of the post.

Reinforce by drilling a screw through the shorter beam into the side of the insert.  Repeat steps two and three to load the other three posts that form the legs on the your DIY Ikea full size loft bed. Attach two support posts along one long end of the frame by attaching a 72-inch plank. Set the shelf so that the top edge is 2 1/2 feet below the bottom of the beams. Screw it into place with three screws on the diagonal for each beam. Drill these screws through the shelf and into the side of the beam. Attach the other 72-inch plank to the one you just mounted. Screw it in place in the same way.

Attach two support posts along one card end of the frame by attaching a 50-inch plank. Set the shelf so that the top edge is level with the bottom of the 72-inch planks you have already attached. Screw it into place with three screws on the diagonal for each beam. Attach the other 50-inch plank to the one you just mounted. Screw it in place in the same way. Repeat steps seven and eight to add support planks to the opposite card end. Slide the frame into place in its assigned bedroom, long side with the planks against the wall. Raise your full size mattress and place it instead on top of the your DIY Ikea full size loft bed.
